Research and Development of New Innovative Nuclear Drugs
The radiopharmaceutical refers to a radionuclide preparation or a labeled compound thereof used for clinical diagnosis or therapy. Radiopharmaceuticals are an important part of nuclear medicine. They are widely used in myocardial imaging and heart disease diagnosis, cancer diagnosis and treatment, and neurodegenerative disease status monitoring. Our team is developing innovative radiopharmaceuticals based on these disease areas.
1. Neurological diseases-depression, Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, etc
1.1 Depression Anxiety Disorder Drug Development
For the time being, there is no exact cause of depression and anxiety. The key problem in the diagnosis and treatment of depression lies in the lack of diagnostic markers, which still relies on traditional interview, and the corresponding treatment methods and curative effect are limited. Therefore, how to identify depression early and accurately is a major problem to be solved. The endocannabinoid system is a research hotspot in the pathogenesis of depressive disorder in recent years. A large number of literatures show that the endocannabinoid system is involved in the pathogenesis of depressive disorder and plays an important role in the occurrence and development of depressive disorder.
1.2 Pa Kingson Drug Development
Parkinson's disease (Parkinson's disease) is a common neurodegenerative disease in the elderly, and its prevalence and incidence increase with age. Under the combined effects of genetic and environmental factors, a series of pathophysiological changes can occur in patients with Parkinson's disease/prodromal patients, including α-synuclein aggregation, mitochondrial dysfunction, oxidative stress, and impaired lysosomal system function. Recent studies have shown that neuroinflammation and the immune system may also play an important role in the pathogenesis of Parkinson's disease.
1.3 Alzheimer's Drug Development
There are two possible causes of Alzheimer's disease, the abnormal metabolism of Aβ amyloid protein in the brain leads to the deposition of senile plaques between neurons, and the hyperphosphorylation of Tau protein leads to neurofibrillary tangles. The use of PET-CT can accurately identify early AD patients with no clinical symptoms, with an accuracy rate of more than 95%; in the United States, Europe, Japan and other countries, several companies have approved the listing of Aβ amyloid protein tracers, but these tracers have not yet been approved for listing in China.
2. Oncology field
Cancer has become the world's largest risk of death, and China's cancer burden ranks first. The number of cancer cases and deaths is rising, and there is a lack of effective diagnosis and treatment methods.
2.1 breast cancer
Breast cancer is one of the leading causes of cancer-related deaths in women and is the leading cause of cancer-related deaths, with approximately 280000 and 43000 new cases of breast cancer and deaths in the United States in 2021. According to estrogen receptor, progesterone receptor, human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 and Ki-67 status, breast cancer can be divided into luminal type A, luminal type B, human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 positive type and triple negative breast cancer (TNBC).
2.2 pancreatic cancer
Pancreatic cancer (pancreatic cancer,PC) is a highly malignant, difficult to treat digestive system cancer, is the number of deaths in China ranked sixth cancer, due to the early symptoms of pancreatic cancer is not obvious, the diagnosis rate is not high, the operation mortality rate is high, and the cure rate is very low. Most patients are diagnosed at an advanced stage and lose the opportunity for surgery. Pancreatic cancer is a malignant tumor of digestive tract, which is difficult to diagnose and treat, and its morbidity and mortality have increased significantly in recent years.
